Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better known as Ari Lennox, is an American artist and performer who hails from Washington, D.C., who was the first female to be signed to J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. The first single, Pho was released on the 21st of October, 2016 and was released on Dreamville Records. The singer began to earn notoriety. Shea Butter Baby her debut album was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox uploaded her music online in 2012 after she released her five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. The year 2014 saw her release additional music on the internet including Bound. She appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes and on Sweat It Out July 21st in 2015. In the following year, her music began to circulate around the Dreamville team, as J. Cole wanted her to collaborate with him on some possible references for Rihanna. The news was released on the 8th of December she signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat was a track she sang alongside Cozz for the Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. Her Pho EP was released on her debut album on October 21 in 2016. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's song Change and performed as an opening act on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. In 2018, she appeared on two songs alongside her labelmates EarthGang in the video for Nothing but the Best. And Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on the 16th of July in 2018. The music video followed by a music video in September. On November 9 she released two singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. Then on the 13th of November, two brand new singles titled No One and pedigree. They then teamed up in the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track entitled Shea Butter Baby on November 16 and released as a single on the 26th of February, 2019, to accompany her debut album with the same title. The track was accompanied by an accompanying music video that debuted that was released on February 20, 2019 and surpassed 3 million views on YouTube within the first week. The singer was a supporting artist for 6LACK in their From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
